I mean, it was just that she was just totally different than the last two heroines in this series. He had such good reasons to mistrust people. I felt on edge pretty much the entire read. I swear that all beigid books so far made me cry like a baby sometimes There’s a totally new aspect of him we never touched before, there’s his confusion of which side he should fight with- the Merricks or the Guide, the anger with his mother, the regret for his father and the sensitive touch when he’s with Kate.
Towards the end when she began opening up to Hunter, I could see why they would be good together, but I had to dig really deep. And oh boy, Hunter my dear, you are a hero. It’s the fact that the story lost a little bit of its intensity nearing the end. You’ll still find them here. Unlike other books, Kemmerer does pull some strings that we tried to hide. It has nonstop brkgid, and even when you maybe get a little frustrated you just can’t seem to put it down.
The first day you meet, you are friends. And I guess that’s what made him a lot more easier to understand and like in this book.
BUT it is part of the most spectacular series E. But Kate has an angenda of her own, she is a Guide brought in town to terminate any Elementals, like the Merricks. But if there’s one thing that this series is good at, it is the solidity of characters despite different Keemmerer in each installment.
