It was how Archer told the story jefrey made it interesting. A spellbinding tale of love and betrayal. Nov 15, Donna rated it liked it. The Sins of the Father. There are probably less than dozen stories, some are better than others.
Not that all of it is bad.

While I get that this is the core underpinning of the capitalist consumer jrffrey I have grown up in, it still feels like reading an anthropologists’ report on some other way of living. A very cute story indeed, fere is really sweet I feel. One of the premiere story tellers and the master of the short story, Jeffrey Archer does it again.
But it’s really the concept of the story, and the story behind the story, that txle at the heart of Archer’s elegant and entertaining work. Truly the book contains interesting short stories, each stories are great quick read with surprise endings. A couple of stories were just OK, but they were balanced by a couple that were excellent. One story that really has a quirky ending and would make you laugh in disbelief is ‘The Queen’s Birthday Telegram’.

So the four stars is more for entertainment value rather than anything else. He sets off on a personal mission therehy add a new island to Her Majesty’s Empire.
Nov 01, Aaron rated it it was amazing. It was a 3. This tome packs stories he’d gathered all over the globe, some based on true stories, some imagined. If the trend of him retelling true stories continues, I just hope he meets people with a lot more interesting stories.
A detective makes a deal with an inmate to get the information. When the war ends, the club has lost its records of past tyereby applications. These fifteen brand-new tales showcase Archer’s talent for capturing an unforgettable moment in time, whether tragic, comic, or outrageous. Everyone one of these stories kept me spellbound.

Return to Book Page. When I reached the story’s conclusion, “huh?! The attention to detail he gives to his characters is something I love. It’s no fun reading about dishonest people who get away with their crimes. Not to say that I like all or even one of the characters in the many short stories; many of them were almost caricature-like although strangely, still believableand the stories don’t always end up in a happy ending either. The comment at the end of the amd by Jeffrey is a masterstroke.

And Thereby Hangs a Tale is a collection of short stories, most of which are apparently drawn from stories told to Arch It’s a while since I’ve read Jeffrey Archer.
Yet, I must confess, that this collection was too pedestrian even for someone like me. Archer’s stories always appealed to me because many of them gave insight into the days and nights of “regular” people.
